Elizabeth Person-Ferries of Washington State Art Print

This chart depicts the current fleet of 21 ferries and 20 ports (including one in our neighboring Canadian province, B.C.). There are several ferry classes, based on size and design, with the largest able to transport 2,500 passengers and 200 cars. 

Washington State has the largest ferry system in the USA with nearly two dozen drive-on ferries serving the Puget Sound and Salish Sea areas. About 65,000 people use the ferry system here daily! 2,000 employees work for the ferry system. Without this important state-run infrastructure, Washington State would feel much more isolated.
